time magazine tries to make sense of the middle east

there’s a piece by time contributor michael elliot, the author of a piece on trying to make sense of the demonstrations in the near east. the dude has decided that an african country like sudan is only partially in africa–that the north half is in the middle east.

isn’t that what the british empire did back in the day? convince the africans on the continent of africa that they weren’t all africans but that some were and some weren’t and that their various religions were anathema to each other?

not that we have a PhD is world history. we don’t actually know much about africa. but we do know that geographically, the continent of africa stretches (north-south) from the mediterranean to the cape of good hope. or whatever that bit of water is called around south africa.

myspace and myspace music down the drain

looks like rupert murdoch and his fey son james finally got around to looking at myspace on their iPad and didn’t like what the saw. considering the redesigned myspace website looks like sh**t on the iPad. digital music news got it right when they wrote that myspace music president courtney holt got his walking papers. as news corporation, unlike the previous companies where holt worked like interscope and mtv, is actually a real company with shareholders and people to answer to. murdoch and co. generally pull the plug on non-preforming executives and non-performing companies after 2 years. so we predict that ‘the daily’ –ruperts new iPad newspaper will go belly up by wee hours of 2013.

and now, for the time being, the murdochs are dealing with the myspace fire sale. well hell, if friendster even found a buyer we’re sure myspace can. but one day soon we hope that someone will realize that friendster and facebook and myspace are just frickin’ websites.
