lars von trier’s latest film Melancholia premiered yesterday in germany at the babylon theatre in berlin. the new film which features kirstin dunst, charlotte gainsbourg (looking more and more like her father) and kiefer sutherland is an end-of-the world science fiction drama that tracks the planet melancholia which is on a crash course to earth. the film also features alexander skarsgård (true blood) and his father stellan skarsgård who plays alexander’s father in the film. oh so self-referential.
lars von trier who we all know is afraid to fly, appears at a Q&A in berlin. which probably means he’s not afraid to drive or use trains.
