apple sells less than 20K iphones in india

Wednesday, April 8th, 2009

innovative mobile technology never comes from the u.s. the rule of thumb is that everything starts in japan, then two years later, the europeans follow. japanese mobile customers have spent the past 3 years reading novellas on their mobile phones, having long ago grown accustomed to watching videos. while americans are just experimenting with the small screen and are excited by amazon’s kindle reader for some inexplicable reason.

india is of course, a different area. as it is east and has a lot of western influences. it is also, according to business week not a market that is smitten with the iPhone.
