as someone once famously said, if apple had more female employees they never would’ve released a product called the iPad. but since they did and the tablet only came out last march, why is it that the wall street journal is looking to hire a director in their digital division whose got mobile data product experience –specifically with the iPhone, iPad and android. aside for the iPhone–which 1.0 version is a few years old, the iPad is brand new. yes, loads of newspaper organizations have been developing s**t for these tablets since prior to the launch. but that’s less than 12 months experience.
is this yet another example of the term ‘made in america’ being analagous to ‘low quality?’

the wall street journal is reporting today that denver voters get to vote on whether or not colorado would set up an extraterrestrial affairs commission to deal with possible contact (in the future) with ET or mars attacks type characters.

this is most likely one question looming in the minds of floridians including kendrick meeks, florida’s democratic candidate for senate and the first african-american to run for the senate from florida.
this is somewhat of an historical election. the democratic candidates from south carolina and florida are both black. this is the first sense reconstruction? or is it? everything in the south, when it comes to politics, seems to be the first since reconstruction.
the drudge report, courtesy of a headline from the wall street journal, has asked meeks to drop out of the race, which would pave the way for christ to overtake marco rubio which would help democrats keep latinos in the corner. marco rubio, the son of cuban immigrants looks to be the first latino senator –not since reconstruction, because that didn’t have anything to do with latinos, but since ever.
but getting back to our headline. what has barack obama done for black voters in the u.s.? well, directly nothing. one could argue that the healthcare law rammed through congress would help african americans who are disproportionately impoversed in america. but then the question because would one rather have a job or health insurance?
because the u.s. social welfare system doesn’t really work if you are an unemployed african american male, white male, asian male, latino male. we think we’ve covered all groups there. and since the passage of what everyone likes to call obama care u.s. companies have engaged in a hiring freeze.

did you know that google reads your i.p. address? in theory and presumably through their learning algorithm the company could compare your searches to those of your neighbors or people in your building. well, thank goodness some ISPs are constantly changing their customers’ i.p. addresses. does yours?
is this google paranoia? do you suffer from it? is there a remedy for this? the c.e.o. of the company, who recently said people should change their names as adults to avoid indiscresions as a youngster on social networking sites where you voluntarily let an AV nerd like zuckerberg put your behavior into a database, might say just turn off your computer.

this film just looks like a 3-d transfer. and the film is far too dark to take full advantage of this technology. the gladiator fight scene was almost effective. and the art direction is quite good. but me thinks the 3-d bit is just to try grab the gold from the higher ticket prices.

michelle obama has been laying low since her well publicized vacation to spain –the one where she hung with friends and missed her husband’s birthday and distracted the european media from the mid-term election primaries where the u.s. democratic party looked really bad. wow. that was a full-on run-on sentence.
in this photo, we see that michelle obama has put on tonnage à la oprah winfrey.
but this post isn’t really about michelle obama being phat (as run dmc might say). no, it’s about the u.s. democratic party manipulating black voters to put barbara (don’t call me ma’am, call me senator) boxer and jerry (i was already governor once and destroyed the economy, are you ready for more?) brown. black voters in california make up between 6-7% of the electorate. in 2008 enough black american turned up to increwase their percentage to almost 10%.
we suspect this probably won’t happen this time. but with the numbers between boxer and fiorina so close, one never knows. brown, apparently has, according to realclearpolitics, between a 6& and 12% lead over meg whitman.

bill o’reilly and roger ailes go to bat for juan williams after his outster from the u.s. radio network, n.p.r. juan was taken to task by the station for making what his superiors believed to be an inappropriate comment. the specifics of which have been thoroughly explored over the past day and a half.
and as we here don’t simply express an opinion but dress down opinions, we’re here to talk about juan williams’ expanded role with fox news. now everyone knows that for most people working at or even listening to npr is more a labour of love than anything else. or a labour of hate – depending on which side of the political spectrum you fall under.
in juan williams’ expanded role with the rupert murdoch network, williams will sit in for bill o’reilly once-a-week and do a back-and-forth with him a la glenn beck once-a-week. guess juan just made out like a bandit.
we at a blog about whatever believer npr provides a lot of quality programming and offers listeners an alternative resource for news that fills avoid. its always good to have a variety of POVs on the airwaves. the ceo of npr defends her POV regarding the juan william situation. you can watch her interview here.
