germany reiterates call for EU army

Sunday, May 8th, 2016

1 year ago, germany’s defense ministry floated the idea of an EU army. we would assume now that donald trump has a 50-50 chance of becoming the US presidential candidate and that since he has already made it clear that his aim is to possible withdraw or considerably reduce the US’s international military support of organizations such as NATO, this proposal should hardly come as a surprise. now, according to the Financial Times, germany has started circulating a white paper about the possibility. if you want to see how the russia is covering this news you can read an article here.

remembering ted the first hispanic american to win a presidential primary

Saturday, May 7th, 2016

that’s a huge headline. ted cruz has his place in history as the first hispanic american to win a US presidential primary. idealogically cruz maybe have been a wee bit too far out there for some people. but we liked his libertarian leanings. and we’re pretty sure he’s the first flat taxer to get this far in a presidential primary.

explaining donald trump

Saturday, May 7th, 2016

there are 2 very good articles in the harvard business review from 2008 and 2012. the former is called the curse of the superstar ceo and the later is called the dark side of charisma. try reading both in one sitting. these theories are helpful in explaining donald trump and the trumpsters (fun how this rhymes with dumpster). the dark side of charisma was writen in 2012 –and actually mentions both trump and rupert murdoch by name!

sadiq khan wins 57% of the vote to become london’s mayor

Saturday, May 7th, 2016

sadiq khan (labour) replaces tory boris johnson to become mayor of london. this article in the guardian talks about how the international press has been covering khan. it seems the majority of publications don’t write about his policies but about his religion. we wonder had zac goldsmith had won if the headlines would have read ‘zac goldsmith first jewish mayor of western city’ on the drudge report

remember senator lisa murkowski

Friday, May 6th, 2016

in 2010 alaska senator lisa murkowski lost the republican party to a radical demogague of the right (anything about this story seem familiar). she decided to run anyway as a write in candidate and won. then after she re-entered the senate, she rejoined the republican party and became more moderate on several so-called divisive social issues.
