romney p.r. 911 connecting with voters.

Friday, January 13th, 2012

“This is Romney: He knows what is wrong with a car engine, and he knows how to rebuild that engine — but he doesn’t acknowledge the person driving the car,” that’s a quote from a guy who worked on the romney campaign in 2011, as reported by the washingtonpost.com

also there’s a new commercial comparing romney to john kerry. and east coaster who also had a problem connecting with people.

scrutinze mitt romney please

Sunday, January 1st, 2012

we just got finished reading this lame-o article on the reuters website that talks about how mitt romney no longer wears investment banker suits on the stump.

we think the mainstream news media is doing a huge disservice to americans by doing all this non-reporting on mitt romney. the only article i’ve seen so far that almost does a bit of digging was in new york magazine. this one by reuters is just terrible.

the center-right stuff isn’t much better. but at least one person in a blog post on townhall.com pointed out that before mitt romney decided to run for a state-wide office in MA and decided to run as a pro-choice candidate (because a pro-lifecandidate can’t get elected in MA), he went to the elders of the mormon church to explain his position.

december 15 republican debate reaches almost 8 million

Saturday, December 17th, 2011

fox news hosted the most recent republican debate on december 15 in iowa –site of the first presidential primary. during the debate–the second without herman cain, the participants were asked the electability question. to which ron paul replied, anyone on the stage could defeat barack obama. watch the full debate here.

december 10 republican debate watch in full

Sunday, December 11th, 2011

you can watch yesterday’s (december 19) republican debate here that took place at drake university. unfortunately abc would not allow john huntsman to participate because he didn’t meet their polling requirements. which is a total scam. newt gingrich, michele bachmann, ron paul, mitt romney and the 2 ricks–perry and santorum were in attendance. we’re just waiting for the day when the 2 ricks do a rick roll. herman cain was not in attendance.

the primaries and delegate counts

Monday, December 5th, 2011

there are those who believed that when suddenly loads of states decided to move their primaries up that this would have a positive effect on mitt romney’s campaign.

as the theory goes, the democrats like to look for new meat in their primaries while republicans let different candidates court them, yet ultimately go for the person with the brand name. in 1980 ronald reagan beat george w. bush. in 2000 george bush beat john mccain and in 2008 mccain won the gop’s primaries.

so when newt gingrich imploded last summer and seemed to be wallowing in the 5 – 10 % wilderness for the next few months, the u.s. press along with the uk press (namely the economist–which should be ashamed of itself) decided to hand the mantle to mitt romney.

but is he a brand? this is the question.

december 3 gop presidential debate watch in full

mitt declines to meet newt

Saturday, December 3rd, 2011

the first presidential primary of the 2012 election is less than 5 weeks away and the 2 dudes who have risen to the top are named mitt and newt. but mitt romney seems reluctant to take off his mits as he has declined to participate in a lincoln-douglas style debate (see our previous post) with newt gingrich. if romney suddenly breaks down, the event is tentatively scheduled for december 19.

no filibuster proof u.s. congress

Wednesday, December 3rd, 2008

the run-off election in georgia has produced a republican winner. saxby chambliss beat jim martin by 60 to 40%. sarah palin, mitt romney, mike huckabee and john mccain all went down to georgia to help seal the deal while barack obama didn’t make the trip, but allowed his voice to be used in radio advertisements. so the democratic party will not get 60 votes in the senate and it will be possible for the republicans to block bills passed by the house. the check and balance system does work.

is it true what karl rove said, that barack obama has reverse coattails in the south?
