january 2 is a full day for ron paul. from 10am – 5:30pm he’s crisscrosing across iowa. can he win in iowa. definitely yes. but the curious thing is that ron is taking his son (senator) rand paul along for the ride. possibly preparing him for a run in 2016?
and the lies about ron paul are festering among the mainstreamm media. both the economist (the economist!) and new york magazine are declaring that ron paul will launch a 3rd party run. when in fact he has repeatedly said that he’s not interested in making a 3rd party run.
fox news hosted the most recent republican debate on december 15 in iowa –site of the first presidential primary. during the debate–the second without herman cain, the participants were asked the electability question. to which ron paul replied, anyone on the stage could defeat barack obama. watch the full debate here.
this is not an accurae headline. ron paul used a whole 5 minutes to ask poignant questions about the wikileaks scandal. he nailed it with:
‘Why is the hostility directed at Assange, the publisher, and not at our governments failure to protect classified information?’
‘Are we getting our moneys worth of the 80 Billion dollars per year spent on intelligence gathering?’ –‘we’ meaning americans.
remember back in january, when hillary clinton dissed martin luther king, jr and robert f. kennedy (who died 40 years ago this june) to praise lyndon b. johnson, of all people. during the course of her tirade, she got ted kennedy so hopping mad that the whole kennedy clan that matters (ted, caroline, and ethel. forget rfk, jr, the recovering addict turned environmentalist who threw his um-hum, weight behind hrc.)
it should be noted that hillary clinton and john mccain are taking part in an event to honor martin luther king. it should also be noted that last year, along with pbs, the congressional black caucus hosted debates for both the democratic and republican candidates. if i remember correctly, all the dems turned up, but rudy, mccain, and romney couldn’t be bothered to put in an appearance. but ron paul and mike huckabee both gave very impressive performances.
